Thailand is the perfect country for partying.
While Prostitution is technically still illegal, in practice it is accepted. The maximum penalty for the customer is a fine of 1000 baht (approx. 30 USD). The age of consent is 18 for prostitutes.
There are hotels in all price ranges, but they often have very different joiner policies, ranging from refusing joiners, charging, or welcoming any number of them for free.
Prices: in Pattaya and other cheaper places: 500-1000 baht ST and 1500-2000 baht LT. (+approx 600 barfine)
Phuket and Bangkok: 500-1500 ST, 2000-3000 LT (barfine same same)

Bangkok has three main red light areas: Patpong, Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy.
Patpong is the oldest and most well-known adult entertainment areas for tourists in Bangkok. There are many touts trying to pull tourists into "ping pong shows". Shows of the "king's group" establishments are said to be safe. Expect to pay more than at the other places, but lots of fun can still be had at Patpong. Situated directly at the Sala Daeng BTS station.
Nana Entertainment Plaza is a relatively small area where lots of bars stack on 3 floors. There are less tourist scams and prices tend to be more reasonable. There are 4 bars with mostly non-operated ladyboys at Nana. Situated on sukhumvit soi 4, close to Nana BTS station.
Soi Cowboy is a small street near Asok BTS station with a lot of bars. Here too, prices are more reasonable and there are less rip-offs.
The best area for hotels is definitely lower Sukhumvit around Nana. |
